The next Norris Lake Cleanups:

Norris Dam Marina-September 21, 2024

Located at 1604 Norris Fwy, Norris, TN 37828 
9:00 am to 1 p.m.

For this cleanup at Norris Dam State Park, volunteers will launch from the marina and work along the shoreline on the Anderson and Campbell County sides of Norris Lake.  Lunch will also be served at Norris Dam Marina.  Boat transportation will be provided but if you have a boat, you are welcome to bring it.

Hickory Star Marina-September 21, 2024

Located at 1360 Hickory Star Rd, Maynardville, TN 37807
9:00 am to 1 p.m.
THIS IS A PADDLE ONLY EVENT

For this cleanup at Hickory Star Marina, volunteers will launch from the marina using kayaks, canoes, standup paddleboards or any other paddle vessel, and work along the shoreline. Motorized vessel will not be allowed to participate in this event and are encouraged to participate in the cleanup at Norris Dam Marina.

Volunteers are welcome to bring their own vessel but staff from Big Ridge State Park will be on site to loan kayaks to participants.  You must register prior to Saturday, September 21st so that adequate vessels are available.  The equipment usage is limited and is first come, first serve.

During our cleanups volunteers will clean up the lakeshore near the launch points and on nearby islands.  You are also encouraged to bring a life jacket if you have one.
 
Bags will be provided by the Tennessee Valley Authority at all of the locations. Participants are encouraged to bring gloves and wear tennis shoes, boots, or other shoes with tread.  The lake banks will be muddy so please wear appropriate footwear. Each participant will receive a free T-shirt.

Please note that the Norris Lake Project Team can only assist and commit funds to cleanups that are planned and managed by the team.  We will no longer be able to assist in disposing of garbage, Styrofoam, tires or other debris without prior written notice and approval of such cleanup activities. If you are conducting unauthorized cleanups, depositing debris on public or private boat ramps without prior approval, or trespassing on private property without the property owner’s permission to retrieve debris, you could be subject to fines and prosecution.
