Norris Lake Area Trail System
The Norris Lake Area Trail System (NATS) consist of the hiking, biking and horseback riding trails surrounding Norris Lake in East Tennessee. There are a total of 95 miles of trails adjacent to the shoreline of Norris Lake within 15 miles of each other. The trails are at Anderson County Park, Big Ridge State Park, Loyston Point, Norris Dam State Park, Norris Watershed and Norris Dam (Songbird Trail).
Norris Lake is nestled in the Cumberland Mountains of East Tennessee and offer numerous recreation opportunities. While water sports are the most popular lake activities, the trails that surround Norris Lake are a very close second.
The Trails that make up the system:
- Anderson County Park-Trails under construction
- Big Ridge State Park-15 miles of hiking trails
- Loyston Point-Five trails that total 23 miles-Please note that some trails are foot traffic only while some trails are mountain bike only
- Norris Dam State Park-15 hiking trails ranging from 1/2 mile to 5 miles, 11 trails for mountain biking totaling 22 miles connected to 30 miles of trails at Norris Watershed
- Norris Watershed Trails-30 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails
- River Bluff Trail-3.2 Mile loop for hiking
- Songbird Trail at Norris Dam-2 mile waking trail at Norris Dam along Clinch River

The trails at Norris Dam State Park, the Norris Watershed and Loyston Point are ideal for mountain biking. If you would like to ride your bike from one trail to the other, we suggest the following route.
